Here is a brief overview of each of the comprehensive services you will enjoy as a valued t3cnet customer, and links to more detailed information.
t3cnet will provide you with comprehensive installation support for both in-house and t3cnet-hosted implementations. You will be provided with a test or "staging" environment and a production environment. T3cnet professionals conduct the initial installation and configuration of Velos eResearch in the environment of your choice.
An important factor in the successful implementation of Velos systems is the transfer of knowledge between t3cnet and yourself. At t3cnet we provide you with comprehensive training courses that cover all aspects of the use and maintenance of Velos systems. Since all customer needs are not the same, t3cnet works specifically with you to fit a training program that best suits your needs. Velos training options include:
-
Free group Internet-based training
-
Dedicated Internet-based training
-
On-site training
-
Course training at Velos headquarters
t3cnet provides a range of implementation consulting services for you, should you want this. Velos has been implemented for many highly regarded research programs. As result of this experience, t3cnet professionals often have helpful insights on what works best (and what does not). While much of this knowledge is imparted through documentation provided with the product, or is reflected in the product line itself, t3cnet also provides you with consultative support through the implementation and go-live process.
t3cnet provides you with comprehensive hosted services as an alternative to in-house or customer hosting. This option is ideal for organizations that do not have nor wish to create an in-house technical support capability. T3cnet Velos hosting is also generally more affordable for smaller sites or for single-study system applications.
t3cnet provides you with data migration services to help harness the value of your historical information and better leverage the power of Velos products. T3cnet data migration services use the Velos Interface Engine (VIE) and related mapping and data migration tools to facilitate accurate and cost-effective data migrations.
Velos has a working interface in dozens of third party medical record systems, lab systems, pharmacies, billing systems, and medical devices. Velos interfaces are implemented with the Velos Integration Engine (VIE). The key purpose of VIE is to allow you to import and export a wide variety of data to and from Velos clinical products. The Velos Integration Engine is a generic engine, which can be configured to import and export different formats, types and classes of data to and from Velos clinical products.
Some t3cnet customers may choose to outsource the entire system implementation for conducting a clinical trial electronically. T3cnet professionals are on-hand to help you design and develop study-specific case report forms and can also develop reports specialized to a particular study or your organization needs. All such professional services are provided using existing toolsets that make implementation relatively faster, less expensive, and more reliable.
In contrast to most clinical trial systems, Velos has the considerable advantage of having built eResearch from the ground up using native Internet development technologies such as XML, Java, and Apache. These development technologies, together with a design approach called object-oriented software development, lend themselves particularly well to supporting high levels of configurability without impacting core system functions. Using toolsets comprised of core Velos technologies as well as open source portal development toolkits, Velos Portal Services connect with underlying Velos eResearch functionality through a series of APIs, or Application Programmer Interfaces.
Together, the Portal technology and APIs enable t3cnet or your own team to configure Portal Services that can be substantially customized to particular user or organization needs without altering core systems. Such Portal Services might reside inside the Velos security framework, as would likely be the case for most investigator or sponsor portals, or outside the Velos security framework, as might be the case for some patient portals.
